The Experimental Edge: A Chemistry Intensive

This program is led by Georgia Tech PhD chemistry graduate students, immerses students in hands-on scientific investigation. Participants conduct quantitative experiments such as chemical titrations to analyze reactions and determine concentrations. They explore fermentation and enzyme activity to understand how biochemical processes drive everyday phenomena. Students also examine protein denaturation, connecting molecular structure to real-world applications in cooking and biology. The program includes investigations of heat energy transformations and chemical combustion reactions to illustrate principles of energy transfer and reaction dynamics. Through guided laboratory experiences, students strengthen foundational chemistry knowledge while building critical thinking and scientific efficacy. Register Now
